Mk1 escort chin spoiler opinions

Hi all.

I have been looking into chin spoilers for mk1 escorts.
There seem to be several people selling them, all seem to be Fibre glass. Are there any plastic or carbon one's about??

Has anybody purchased one and fitted it??
Where was it purchased from??
What was the fit like??
How did you attach to the front panel??
Some have brackets for mounting.

Any advice or info would be much appreciated.

I got a grp chin spoiler... I *think* from Speedshack, years ago. We just fit it recently in building up the car... fit is.... erm.... so-so. End profiles where it starts to curve around the bottom edges of the front panel where way off. We ended up using sikaflex to bond it to the front panel, along with a couple of bolts drilled through. We also made a couple of aluminium brackets to support it, so that it shouldn't crack (as easily).

Ours is blended in to the panel itself.

Unless you get a nice alloy one like from M11rf, or something in carbon that fits like a glove, I'd be prepared for a bit of reprofiling, filler, etc. to make it a nice job.
