Nope move it to the muppets... the BMW rear suspension is better than the Sierra one, but its heavy... both would require a lot of fabrication for very little gain. The problem with passenger car suspensions is they are not designed for race cars, they have a lot of compremises built into them, ie rear passengers. A race car rear IRS has the upper and lower wishbones almost meeting in the middle, which would mean attaching them to the middle rear seat passengers hips.
The Sierra has terrible camber control, and also toe problems when on droop. the BMW has the same, but not as much. And the idea behind the weight saving on unsprung weight goes right out the window when you weigh the componants on both cars. I had to rebuild the diff mounts in a M3 that had ripped them out, that BMW rear end is seriously heavy
ok...there is a mk1 escort here with IRS so was jus wondering, why he might have done it cause i was considering it also. But the weight of it turns me off.
