info on incorpating a sole trader business into a limited company

not really normal TS stuff, but as some of you know i set up a ltd company a couple of years ago. i have now been offered another business, this business isnt a ltd company but belongs to a sole trader, obviously i can still buy it, and wish to run it under its current name, but i dont really want set up another ltd company and do two sets of accounts, tax, vat, paye etc etc.

so does any one know anything about running this other business under the banner of my first company, but keeping the name alone of the new one seperate

    anyone know anything?

I believe it is quite straight forward but i would speak to an accountant. you can run the other business as Penguin Motors ltd T/A abc123

then all branding is the trading name, but it all goes though the LTD Company. but i would speak with your accountant as it may be more tax efficient to run it as 2 companies depending on turnover etc

Biggish is on the right track we done a similar thing when we split the garage up, it used to be car sales, workshop and tyre van all under the garage name then the boss re-branded it and in effect although everything was still under the garage the new workshop, car sales and tyre are trading as different names and it was to do with tax
