    if your buying new they only do 1, ( although there is a cheaper basic fuel and ignition one only in the pipeline but you wont want that one)

    if you buying used, all the M3DK will do turbos, dont buy an early M3D one with a 5 pin din type plug, only the later M3DK 9 pin computer comms type plug one, proir to serial number circa around 1200 they will do turbos but wont be upgradable to the latest all singing dancing software, best get the serial number and phone emerald, leoni will soon find out for you, if its on ebay she will probably know the answer before you even ask!

    if you buy new from them feel free to use my name and try to precure a bit extra discount!

    dave also has the most reasonable mapping charges i've ever come across, and if your cars good you have a fair chance of getting a pic in a mag in one of dave columes which my just help swing a sponsor

    i guess so, but i'd rather have an ecu with proper full mapped control over everything than use add ons

    you can use passive ALS which is more forgiving ticks over at about 1/2 a bar rather than the full aggresive ALS

    Not sure about ALS, think as long as the gearing is ok it wont be so beneficial on circuits.
    Things like that can be added later into the ecu if necessary along with the T/C while Mr Bahr's not looking

    yes you got it that and driving style and you wont get lag, basically as long as your turbos are not too big, it should be like mine, even on a trailing throttle it should be lag free as long as you take an apex with 4,000 rpm still on the motor

    Plumbed in the brakes today all bar the reservoirs, well Mr Pipe did anyway

    All done in nice braided hose with bulkhead fittings from Speedflow and Rally design, and held in place by neat cable tie holders so that any lengths of it can be moved without bleeding the system or drilling rivets out

    Front brake line to inner wing bulkhead fitting;

    Inside lines all neatly run;

    Also fire extinguisher refitted on riv-nuts in footwell;

    Next; plumb in extinguisher tomorrow

    Re: David White's - Mk2 Escort - Cosworth V6 Turbo

    Cheers for comments guys, plumbed the extinguisher today and John (Pipe) started to make the rad mounts

    Think i'd better get the front end back now, kinda only looks like half a car at the moment

    Oh and I must stress that our race cars are run on a very very tight budget but fitting cheap parts is usually a false economy in the long run which is why I'm trying to fit decent stuff everywhere this time, where possible, including the plumbing and brakes The idea behind the brake lines is that all of the parts can be moved and put back quickly without fear of ruining or kinking the pipes

    Re: David White's - Mk2 Escort - Cosworth V6 Turbo

    One or two updates this weekend, I've been making my dash panel to hold all the main gauges and warning lights and Andy has been busy making the all new wiring loom (pics to follow once its layed in the car again). Loom is nearly complete, just some plugs and a bit more loom tape. Then Andy can start on the stand alone ecu loom which we have the diagrams to already

    Anyways, back to the dash... well its somewhat lighter than the origional metal escort dashboard that was cut out It is mounted off of the big 3/4" rosejoint for the steering column.
    All I have to do is fit the oil light to one side and a shift light next to the ignition one. Oh and buy an 80mm Elliot revcounter in the week.

    As you can see all gauges will be perfectly visible through the wheel

    Black box behind gear lever is for all of the switches, relays, fuses and start button;

    Big thanks to Andy for making up the loom double quick today

    Nice one I would think twice about an Elliot rev counter though. My brother and Icky (orange ht powered mk2) have one in their mk2's and all they do is flicker or pack up altogether,my brothers one has packed up for the 2nd time now. Its worth spending a little bit more for the stack ST200,basically a clubman spec rev counter,and you can set it up on any amount of cylinders you want,like on waisted ignition on a 4 cylinder car you would have it set up for 2 cylinder etc etc.

    As a second opinion I have/had an Elliot rev counter in my Escort. Bought it 2nd hand ex formula ford and it has been 100% perfect in the time I've had it and very accurate Mine is connected to the ECU rev counter output pin so maybe that is a cleaner more reliable output compared to running it off of the coil?

    Yeah it will run off the ECU which should be a perfect signal, plus Andy has used an Elliot for years in the racecar with hi revs and a lot of vibration without any probs

    Will look into it this week Kev, must admit the Elliots aren't as cheap as they used to be either so there is less of a jump up to a stack.

    My brothers is connected to the ecu output also. Icky's was to the coil. With the stack one its just a smooth accurate reading everytime with a peak recall button facility . You could try Mike Rainbird at R&B motorsport on passion fight for a stack one. Or just use demon thieves,they are the main agent for stack in the uk. And they are about the same price as other dealers when i checked before. Bigdave used this firm for stack dash:

    Gave the car a bit of a run yesterday, well on the trailer at least and paid a quick visit to Scuffs n stuff.

    It didn't go on the trailer like this though, need a wider trailer for the back wheels to fit on

    Front end completely repainted, cracks removed and bonnet lift strenghened and blended in

    Colour looks very bright compared with the rest of the car but it hasn't been polished or even washed properly yet so it will all match nicely with a good clean up

    Have to say i'm well pleased with Dan and Andy's work again (Scuffs n stuff) the quality is excellent and they still aren't p***ed off with me. Yet.

    Also got a sneak preview of their next mk2 project thats nearly done and well, WOW .
    Gonna be another of Gary's projects done justice with an awesome paint job

    Need to buy an ECU next and Andy is making an ECU loom.
    Clutch and prop will also be ordered as soon as funds permit and then its off to get the thing running

    Did a little more on the car this weekend, well today (went to motorsport show at excel yesterday).

    Mr Pipe, hard at work;

    Drilled and cut out my control panel for the switches to fit on the top, start button on the side and fuses and relays sticking out of the front and back respectively. Quite suprising it all fits in there really! This is bolted to the tunnel with good old rivnuts, through some rubber washers.

    You can see the main loom which is fitted in place and can now start to be joined to everything by Mr Pipe
