    Turbosport Update!

Hello everyone, I though it was about time I posted a little update on the inner workings of Turbosport.

Firstly - You will still have noticed that there a lots of missing bits to the site, this is due to the server failure a few weeks ago, not to worry though we haven’t lost any data, I just couldn’t fit all the uploader files on the temporary server, I am expecting to resume normal service by the 8th of January, this might seem a long way away but I have had to invest in a new server and while I was at it I want to implement some new technology. The configuration and new security requirements will take some time to get in place for this all to work, but it will bring the ability to introduce some nice new features to the site.

For those that are interested the new server is a HP DL380 Dual 3.4Ghz 3Gb Ram and full up with drives and redundant bits and bobs. The server is the world’s best selling server and comes with a 3 year on site warranty so we won’t get caught with the server failing after 1 year and 1 month like the last one.

Secondly - Turbosport will be seeing some major changes in the new year too with a complete revamp of the way it is run, I feel the site is far to big for the current management and with some more heads on board we can make the club (can I call it a club?) a much better vehicle for us to enjoy our fabulous hobby more.

Thank you everyone for your patience and don’t forget have a GREAT Christmas !

    Re: Turbosport Update!

Clint, ive spoken to you when you was ill and doing all that techy stuff when the server crashed... theres only so many hours in the day and you over filled yours so the site was running again, well done

I've been on other sites and they have loads of admins not just a couple, so the fact that the site runs so well can only mean you and the other admins are committed to this site.

So i'd like to say thank you, and all the other people who run the site for A, making me feel welcome and B, for providing a friendly place to rant , laugh, share the good and the bad, in other words a community.

Long may the site continue to grow and mature, and heres to 2006

    Re: Turbosport Update!

I couldn't agree more with all of the above. I haven't been around much lately (due to wotk etc.), but it always feels like "home" to come back to the site and read everything that's been written...

Big thanks to Clint (and the rest of the TS team) for investing such amounts of work in the site and making people able to share their love for our great hobby

And of course I also wish everybody on here a very very nice christmas, make it a good one

    Bart

PS Clint, if there's anything that can be done from Holland to help out with the site please let me know, I'd be glad to help

    Re: Turbosport Update!

Just thought id add my bit and say, i think what you have done so far is very good given the situation the other week. We can live without some older pics and sigs, all that matters is that we all still have the place we love to be able to communicate with eachother and enjoy eachothers company. Im sure a few people would be willing to help admin the site, i am one of them but obviously its up to you to pick the ones you want Maybe run a who wants to be an admin post and pick the names out of a hat?

Anyways il stop rambling and keep it short, merry chrimbo and happy new year to all the fellow turbosporters out there and may 2006 be a bigger and better year for OUR CLUB (shows, meets, rr days, etc)

I can really add much either
I was introduced to the site via Nick williams (nickmexicos) and have been here ever since. Met some great people and made some new friends. Got some cheap parts and sold some bits too.
I always recommend the site to others

I have to say it is a really nice gesture to put the TS members cars on a random banner like this. It's really nice to see my car pop up every once in a while. This has got to be the best change TS has done

    Thanks Guys (and Gals)

Edit: I think Kev's tweaked it so his comes up more often, anyone else noticed this?
