Beware ATM Motorsport - Remember them

Well I have brought a windage tray from an ebay user called andybike all ok good transaction etc.

I remember reading about bad expierences from a few users on here about ATM, but had no idea this guy was them otherwise I would not have purechased anything.

Then I saw him selling another one which I also won, this one had a description which said and quote "a cosworth escort GPA windage tray, with slight damage from con rod"

    Ad Here!

Slight damage ok, have alook at the picture, cant really see any damage but you probably wouldnt as its only slight !

heres the picture in the ad:

Now have a look at the item I recieved:

Its was cracked all the way along, holes had been drilled to try and stop them but the whole tray was out of shape and totally unuseable in any engine.

I contacted him and asked if he had actually seen it as it wasnt any good and asked for a refund.

    no problem he replied:

    "hi
it is easy repaired,, and lets face it all it dose is stops the wind blowing around in the sump,, up to you but remember there are none of these left now ..

    regards andrew"

I replied and said I wanted a refund and could I return it, heard nothing back but sent it back to him registered post. I waited a week and heard nothing asked for he refund, got the refund no problem.

I left feedback as I thought fit:
"Item poorly described and wrong picture used, totally useless, got refund ok!"
I only left neutral feedback as well, I was quite within my right to leave bad feedback but as everything was resolved I thought neutral was correct.

But aparently I slagged him off ! he replied to my feedback:

"Reply by andybike6762: and you waited until you got the refund ,, and then slagged me off,"

So as I was acused of slaging him off, and remembering what I was told as a child "if you get acused of somthing you might of well do it!"; here is my official slag off andybike thread !

I have since noticed that someone else had already returned this item:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=8019462435

his feedback "make sure whats in the pic, is what your gettin, refunded eventually tho!!!" and his reply "Reply by andybike6762: glad you are now happy, good luck finding one"

Seems its ok to sell shit as long as its hard to find.

Re: Beware ATM Motorsport - Remember them

I recently went to his place to get a .63 housing for my brother as he was the only one with one in stock.
He uses the same picture for every housing that he has and it says that its a new housing, which the one in the picture is,but it has no penny washer or actuator arm.
The housing i got looked ok after close inspection, got it all the way home and fitted it on the car, when we put the turbo core into it,it was like a prick in a bucket Turns out someone had machined it out to fit a T4 core into it
So had to go all the way back to silver end to change it. He changed it no problems and we got a good Grp A housing from him.
Here is a pic of the wrong housing he supplied, its on the right and a .48 housing is on the left

percy: your starting to worry me now i bought an intercooler off him , think i will need to get it pressure tested to be on the safe side, and will probably find out it is only ok for sifting flour

what a twat it annoys me people who sell percy: items and then expect a bit of good feedback, I had similar trouble with a company on ebay who i bought my boys bike off this xmas. he said he would deliver it nearer the date if i wanted but i said i would have it now and store it at my factory, the rear spindle was bent and i sent the wheel back and he sent the same one again so i told him i wanted my money back or , he paid me my expenses back and the cost of repair so the bike cost me about £40 in the end

i bought a windage tray it turned out to be ok, though not the one in the pic.
BTW Clint did you get a price off ford for the tray?
i didn't either but 7 the bolts to suit only cost £12 so the tray might not have cost much
it's not GpA, they're standard on eecIV escort
a pectel monitor i bought off him was well tatty, not the one in the pic
but he changed id so i couldn't leave feedback

You will be fine Andy I think Clint was pissed off with the way the bloke got upset about his feedback Its not as if it was neg feedback which he was certainly entitled to do And the item he got was certainly not the item in the pictures even my kids spotted the differences And as clint said if he is getting accused of something he might as well do it so hence the post.

I know Andy E bought a new windage tray and main cap bolts from Ford when he was building his white Mk2, but I suppose they may be unavailable now ??

Re: Beware ATM Motorsport - Remember them

i would never buy anything off that prick ever again and if i ever meet him i`m going to hurt him...........

i will not go into detail but basically i bought a set of 18ins comp mos off of him which cost me more than expected as when he first used to advertise on bb`s he never said about VAT so they cost more but that was the least of my worries as the wheels arrived and i planned to have them refurbed anyway but had no money so i had to wait a couple of month before i could afford it, when i did have the money i then sent them to be refurbed only to find they were all bent..... i told him and wanted something done about it and he refused cos he claimed that i had had them too long and i could of damaged them myself which is impossible as the wheels had slicks on and it was over the winter and the wheels didnt even fit my sapphire until i bought coilovers.........

why do people fuck people over.there get a bad name then loose there buisness.there learn in the long run.......

remember ebay is for selling crap most of the time.

many people fook me off on ebay and i wish i could leave badfeedback but if you do they leave bad feedback for you.so i never leave bad feedback .i dont go by feedback unless its truely bad .3 or more bad feedbacks stay well away from.

Re: Beware ATM Motorsport - Remember them

In my experience, I found him to be OK.

I bought a Kevlar Sparco off him that he had taken a bad pic of and not advertised very well, it didnt show what material it was....

I recognised the seat and bid and won it for £40

He was OK when I went to collect it, let me have a look around etc.

Being in the same game, you do get used to dealing with people in the trade who know the score, I got the impression that he deals a lot with people from ebay that dont really know what they are on about or what they are looking at, which wastes a lot of time and so doesnt really bother that much with the descriptions.

As for 909 parts, a lot of them are standard parts...... people seem to get narked when they find out later they could have got the same bits from Ford for less.......
Thats the buyers look out, he just happens to know which bits are which and makes money out of that......

Just speaking from my own experience with him as a satisfied customer, sounds like others have not been so lucky

    Just my 2 pennorth

i just found this in his feedback as well,

Not a mechanical gauge as per my email question, hence no use!

i thought that was actually a fair enough bit of feedback? no slagging off as far as i can see!

Re: Beware ATM Motorsport - Remember them

He has recently changed his user name, the old name he went under got too much negative feedback. He never used to put any postage costs on the advert then if you won,the invoice would have an extortionate postage charge on it and you had to pay(nice scam)

I was after a small braided hose that was about a fiver, emailed him for postage cost and was told £20.

Now he puts the postage on his ads after he got too much negative feedback, ive emailed him a few times asking the condition of parts but he never ever bothers to reply.

    Best avoided in my opinionpercy:

Just imagine if you are across the ocean and the fawker has your Check-card number, gives you a quote then ups the prices by 3 to 5 times and yep 400% of what the post costs, then puts VAT on the whole mess!!!

Never did get back the 250 quid for the "thick wall diff" I paid for.
He said "that was ATM, this is ATM SPORT, we don't have to refund your money.

    Realistically, what can be done?
If you compalin, and I did to Motoring News where he advertised, he theatens you with libel lawsuits.

The rear wheels from my car came from ATM and they were spot on, exactly as described and reasonably priced also. However, from what you guys are saying, this seems to be the exception!
