SVA or MOT for V8 'Tina???

Hi, saw the awesome Rover V8 powered Tina with Toyota transmission in last months classic ford. It got me thinking about a project of my own. In the summer i am hoping to put an engine and transmission from one car into a totally different car, power from one and wieght from another, but was wandering how i would go about getting it road legal. I was told about a 10 point sva scheme where you get points for parts of the vehicle that are the same and if you have 8 it's all cool and the gang and if you don't have 8 then you're technically screwed. The Tina in question seemed to have parts from everywhere so i was wandering if you know whether he just had a mate working at an MOT station or if it had been SVA'd or if it had had some other test done which i don't know about.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated

    cheers

As long as the chassis of the vehicle is the same, no SVA test is needed. As long as its still a cortina shell, don't really matter whats bolted on it. Trust me, you don't wanna go through an SVA, its evil!
