If you use a standard 2.0l Mondeo motor.
I suggest you do the following.

1)Replace the DMF (Dual Mass Flywheel) with a light weight one.
2)Replace intake system with carbs or throttle bodies.
3)Fabricate your own exhaust manifold. By using the steel Mondeo exhaust manifold down to the 4>1 collector and make your own downpipe to fit the Mk2.
3)By a set of engine mounts from Ralloy £81.66 (See add in last months Classic Ford, page 111).
4)Sump. You have 3 options, Raceline Wet Sump, Pace Dry Sump or fabricate your own wet sump and oil pickup pipe from the Mondeo ones. If you buy Ralloys engine mounts, ask them what sump they use.
5)Bell housings are available for the type 9 and Cossie T5 gearboxes, both need hydraulic clutch.
6)Modifications to rear gearbox mount and gearbox tunnel to mount gearbox.
7)Raceline or equivalent water rail and thermostat housing to bring the water oulet from the back of the head to the front of the engine.
8)The propshaft may need to be shortend depending what gearbox you use.

Based on my experiences that should get a Duratec installed into a Mk2.

I would reconmend that the crankshaft, timing cog and front pulley are keywayed as a precaution agained timing slip at high rpm. Although I see that Cosworth did not do it on the Classic Ford project engine on page 97 of this months issue.

Other things you need to think about.

1)Radiator and pipe work - availble from Ralloy.
2)Oil filter and oil cooler fitment and location - Oil filter location is very close to cross member and pasenger side engine mount.
3)Alternator and belt drive system - Duratec water pump runs backwards in direction when compared to other Ford engines, Zetec etc. Thankyou Mazda. Alternator kit available from Raceline - not cheap.
    4)Engine management and wiring.

I hope this is some help, although I still think the costs will add up to a substantial amount.
