Big Thanks To Kev16v......This man knows his Stuff when it comes to the Vauxhall XE Engine.....
Spent most of day working on the cortina...Was going to fit a new engine...But with Kev help and advice Went another route.
Fitted new Head...As the bottom end was the same as i had so it was a case of stripping it all down..Head off...Head has had quite a bit of work...polished ported gas flowed,Cams verniers plus a few more tweeks ect..
Thanks for all your help mate,And the use of your tools Got a few pictures to post up..But i must say the car feels completely different..Rev,pulls,And grunts..Just got to change it over to 3D and get it mapped @Track and Road..To see the difference...But i can feel the difference..Even kev was suprized how much better it rev and sounds..so on the rollers maybe next saturday..And if anyone needs help advice of work done on there XE engine Kevs your man Thanks Mate

Well since i got the new shell the next few months should be quite productive-i'm hoping anyway. Still need a few bits-no cash tho you know what its like. I was hoping to get it ready to take it to the 'Ring next year-jammy git-but if all goes well it may be done this year. Seeing all the plush motors on here makes me want it now god damn it...

Well since i have been working hard and helping out here and there i have Finally got my Throttle bodies Fitted,
Took my ECU to track and road and had a base map added to my ecu,(As it came out of a Zetec powered car)
Bought myself an Omex 500 ECU and Loom...And a nice new set of Polished 4" trumpets
Just got to now fit my loom,Fuel Pump,And a bit of work on the petrol Tank,
Then it booked into Track and road for a full mapping session on Tuesday 29th Aug. .
Then i can get the car back on the road.....
Miss not being able to open my garage and have a blast in my car

    Re: My MK1 Cortina

    you must be very proud.

if ever I felt down I would just have to walk in garage and look at that thing.

    a beautiful car

and I'm in favour of the vauxhaul lump also.

a far better engine than the YB cossie as many a true rally boy would know.

I've heard many times they are stronger and cheaper to look after/build whilst making similar horsepower. I'm sure that may annoy some but just what I've heard.

Trouble is when it looks as clean as yours, do you use it to full potential.

    pleasure to see.
