    zetec installation-cooling/plumbing for FWD xr3??

Hi all, having a issue with my plumbing for my zetec conversion. im using the zetec blacktop 2 litre and using the std thermostat housing.i would like to get the plumbing very similar to the original setup of the zetec in order to use the zetec bypass facility on the thermostat.Anybody have a diagram or could explain how must i connect the pipes including to and from the heater matrix, radiator, water pump, etc??My car is a xr3 by the way.

    Much thanks in advance!!!!

I would try going to a scrap yard and lift all the coolant pipe work out of a zetec focus and that will give you the right setup, label everything if needs be and there should only be minor alterations required - plus it will give the stock look

    cheers

I would think it would be similar, the pathways should be the same for coolant flow, if anything the hoses will prob be a bit longer to allow for cl trimming down for the xr3

    zetec installation-cooling/plumbing for FWD xr3??

The drawing with t pieces is probably from a rwd setup as will kit car setups.
I have a mondeo drawing on pc I will post but I may have already put it on here.
Googling Zetec cooling issue should find the original article done for westfield kit but includes a std mondeo drawing. Or try googling Zetec cooling westfield ducted nose.

Re: zetec installation-cooling/plumbing for FWD xr3??

thanks guys.just one more question.im using my standard xr3 radiator.previously the fan switch for the radiator was attached to the cvh thermostat housing.now that im using zetec with std plastic zetec thermostat housing, where do i fit the fan switch and must i use one from a zetec blacktop as im assuming that the cvh fan kicks in at a different temperature as compared to the zetec.any help would be appreciated.

Use a hose adapter and put the fan switch in the top hose.

thanks Katana-just to confirm ,the top hose is the thick hose from the thermostat to the top of the radiator? Also, is the radiator fan switch the same as found in your normal 1600/1800 zetec?
