Well i cannot believe how long it has been since i started my last thread on my old car :clint: http://www.turbosport.co.uk/showthread.php?t=98762
so after a few rallies a 4wd 3door i loved it and would never venture back to 2wd im afraid for competition use, especially on gravel.
Once the 3dr was sold the plan was to buy an ex- group a escort cosowrth to rally, but as with all plans thing change, and after seeing a certain vehicle builders work with the mk1 and mk2 foci i decided that maybe this was an avenue to go down, so i approached a guy called Andrew Gallacher www.andrewgallacher.com (http://www.andrewgallacher.com) about building an escort group a car into a focus mk1, i made the trip 300 miles to look at his fascilites for the project and to see his work for my own eyes, im a little scepticle at times ! ! :O his work was excellant to say the least, so the date was arranged, the car was sourced, all was set, until the MSA sent me a copy of their new regulation for the coming years rallying, and after so many phone calls with the technical dept at the MSA decided it was too big of a risk to build the car and not be able to run it at the events of my choice :rsocmoan::rsocmoan::rsocmoan:
the focus was sold on.
the focus conversion was cheaper than buying a used escort coworth shell and just putting a cage in it ! but it was not to be, so enter the new purchase .............

after much thought about the future and having looked at other disciplines decided that it would be better to try and build my own ulitmate spec escort :lmao:
the car was shipped straight to Andy Gallachers, and the designs for the shell were to be copied from a pukka WRC shell, but to try to improve it along the way, after all they are the best part of a 15 yr old design !
we would make our own suspension parts to the similar spec to the wrc items and change where neccesary, some current photos
