    setting clocks back to zero

browsing ebay i spotted a set of mk1 escort clocks which had been set back to zero miles,

a few questions, is this easily done and are there any legal implications?

i mean over my escorts 40 year life very little of it is probably original, ill be amazed if its still on the original logbook it left the factory with and to be honest who knows how many miles it has done?

the car hasnt seen the road for around 20 years and its a long term restoration so when its finished it would be nice to see how many miles i clock in it from when it was 're-born'

yes its quite easy to, as for legal implications, i dont think so unless your selling the car and trying to pass off the new mileage as genuine.
at one time a lot of used car dealers would reset mileages to zero as they couldnt guarantee the mileage

Sounds like mine. It's not quite that bad though, it's been off the road about 7 years now, I can see it stretching to that though.
