If it's on carbs?, then Megajolt...
cheers m8, i forgot to put that i`m going to use a twin choke
thanks davy
Whats involved with megajolt m8
There isn't a right or wrong answer to this question. Megajolt is the cost effective (mappable) setup. Then there is OMEX and Emerald. If you are just using carb and no injection then Megajolt or OMEX 200 would do the job fine.
My advice would be to decide where you are going to get the car mapped/jetted and ask them what they are familiar with. If they have a preference for one system then go with that. Doesn't mean you have to buy from them though. Also bear in mind that you would need to go somewhere that can rejet the carb on the rollers too. I went to a place that was an OMEX and Weber dealer. So they were good with the mapping of my OMEX 200 and had the jets in stock for my carb so they could try different ones out.
There is a very good local rolling road near me, but they don't have any Weber parts on site. So if I'd used them they couldn't do anything with the carb. Half cocked job imo.
Davy,
I am using Edis4 module with Megajolt and twin choke weber.
Megajolt is a doddle to wire up and is mapable. Gas Bag is just running the standard Zetec map supplied with the Megajolt and runs great. I will get it re-mapped some day, but at the moment it is giving me great acceleration, cruising, top end and when driven "Normally", i get around 40/45 to the gallon.
I wired my Megajolt harness and Edis4 sitting on my couch while watching TV. Got mine from Trigger wheels. Cost me £206 complete with Edis4, But have gone up a bit since i got mine last year. I now have my Edis4 and Megajolt inside the car, on the rear of the bulkhead and have no wires visible anywhere in the engine bay.
The power and ecconomy compared to the standard Red ESC module is unbelievable. Go for it mate.
Dont forget to get the one with MAP sensor, not TPS.

u got any pix of it john????
Ive run 1.8 zetec on original ecu and a twin choke weber. It delivered same HP as normal on injection
93bb non pats 1800 ecu.
Made up wiring loom using 8 wires. TPS-coil-CPS
And then the wires for feed (dont know these pins out of my memory, wire in middle of coil connector to +15) and earth (pin 16,20,40,60)
Thats it
thanks for the info m8
anyone know what models and years came with non pats
cheers davy
Hi RWD,
What pics you want mate? Engine is currently on the stand waiting for the sump to arrive, then i will get it back in and get some pics to you.
She is getting a new coat of paint just now, that's why the engine is out. Ford Frozen White and bright as hell.

93bb ecus I think were first 2 years
Went down to the car today for pics. Cant get the camera up behind the clocks pod to get any pics. Mine is fitted to the rear of the top of bulkhead directly behind and to the right slightly, behind the clocks and pod. Should have taken the pics before refitting the dash, clocks and pod. Sorry.

hopefully it will be worth it m8, out of interest where are/did you get the mj from
thought id save a bit of cash by robbing the carb for the zetec from the zodiac lying in the driveway but think it might be a tad mental being a 40dgas lol
I had mine from trigger wheels through ebay I bought the complete kit with edis they seem to have gone up a fair bit now though If you're not In a great rush be better off looking for a 2nd hand one...Nodiz do one that doesn't need edis as It has built In coil drivers, Chester sports cars use It for their conversions as the edis units have gone up In price...I have a spare edis unit here somewhere I think
I have a set up for TPS but that's as I'm using bike carbs with a TPS built In...Map sensor types probably cheaper and easier to use for a twin choke...
As for the carb that one may be worth a try save a few bob you can always go back to a 32/36 If you find a cheap one/If you want...
Cheers m8, i just bought a megajolt from america(good bit cheaper than trigger wheels)
Might know someone looking for an edis if your selling
cheers davy
Have all your dumps at work!!!Not only will you save money on toilet paper, but you'll also be getting paid for it.

Guys has anyone used one of these Webcon Blacktop Zetec Kits.?
http://www.webcon.co.uk/shopexd.asp?id=15189
I bought one from Webcon and it wont even start the engine. They also promised software that could be downloaded instead of relying on an Alpha dealer but this has never happened either. Very disappointing. I fitted a megajolt to another zetec in another car and it was simple easy and off it went.
This is a lot more money and if anyone has any experience with this one that would be great.
Cheers
Anglia is looking good tawny glad your happy with the carb and ecu set up
any1 tried these?????http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4005781663...84.m1438.l2649
That's basically what Haadee has used the std ecu wired to use the Ignition map only by the look of It... It will only produce std power though there are cars out there producing 145-150bhp using megajolt on a twin choke weber, Its a good budget option shame It cant be mapped
Thats rather pricy in my opinion, but same setup I have used.
Saw 118 hp on an old 1.8 litre, with 32/32 carb
I also had a 2.0 banger on the dyno produced 143 hp if I remember right.
It had 38/38 carb, ignition like this or a escort/fiesta ignition box cant remember
