I wondered when i would see this car again, If you remember I went to view it then spoke to you about it when it was for sale. That was via Rallye sport forum. I kind of wished i had bought it after you had too. Its looking well with the things you have done so far keep up the good work. I found a car and bought it last June, Just about finished the work i undertook over the winter.
Seems a lot bigger than before, we left a 10mm return lip to fold over and stitch from underneath later. Just stitched in from inside for now.
Also found some more tin worm !!
That's all for now next up 4 link boxes.
Now for the 1st of the jobs we were really worried about, 5 link boxes we did about 2 hours fretting over and rechecking measurements before finally gathering courage to start cutting.
Squires clubman 5 link kit
Tack fronts in and re/re measure yet again 780mm and 390mm taxing the brain very hard by the end of the day.
I'll be glad when all the bolting on can start make some space.
That's all for now 3 piece bulkhead and finish off underneath next time.
Great stuff what do you have now? You had a very good black mk2 if I'm correct
It was midnight blue not black mate. Thats gone now and i bought a Mexico replica. It needed a front floor pan which turned into a pan, inner and outer sill and splash shield! Oh and a passenger side door skin which is why its not finished yet. keep the updates coming on yours.
Ok next instalment is the 3 piece bulkhead the two side plates went in easy flat and flush the centre needed bending slightly...
Watch your eyes tacking the centre in!!
All tacked in
Welding in proper and folding tunnel lip over to weld
All done for the day
Finish off next time.
