So got the stuff from the postal today and it seems that the needles that i got from transmission-rebuild-kits.co.uk will fit, i think.
Did some measurements with a micromiter and the new longer needles are at 3.36 mm a 0.01 mm thicker than the old ones, no problem with that. However adding up the two washers (3.19 mm each) and the long needle (25.9 mm) the overall length is 32.28 mm, opposed to the std solution 4 washers and short needles (18.8 mm) 31.6 mm. So the new bearing is 0.68 mm longer.
It will probably be fine, i will find out as soon as i get to the gearbox assembly.
Oil seal measurements:
Speedodrive ....metric 8 - 16 - 7
Input shaft ....metric 28 - 40 - 7
Prop shaft .....imperial 1.375 - 1.953 - 0.500 TZY (this one is a bit special, since it has to seal both ways)
And for oil i still went for the Comma SX 75W90 GL4 , never seen or used a totally transparent oil before, at least not on the car
The reason why i went with this oil and not the castrol one is the GL rating. The higher GL rating provides more strength thanks to the higher quantity of nasty sulfur additives. But the same additives eat away yellow metals eg brass syncro rings.
I'm no expert at oil chemistry, it's just what i read on the internet, written by people that i would like to think know what they are saying.
I will be driving the car maybe 2-3000 km a year and aldough the oil was dirt cheap, i'm not planning to change the oil for at least 3 years, since it involves removing the gearbox from the car.
