    fitting 1300 x-flow pistons to 1600 x-flow

Currently toying with the idea of fitting 1300cc pistons to my 1600cc Mk1 Fiesta x-flow engined sprint / hillclimb car.

Looking to go to +0.020 up to +0.060, can anyone advise which pistons to use, std or GT or if they are different ?

Also, will a Mk XR2 block bore safely to +0.090 ?

    Any help greatly appreciated ?

    Cheers !
    David

it doesn't make much differnce std or gt pistons there is only a 0.2 difference in compression ratio, and if your fitting a serious cam you will need deeper valve cut outs put in both types.

if your block is std dont use all its lives up in one go by boring 0.090 oversize, such a big oversize doesnt add much power, and the heavier piston will make the engine slower reving.
