Independant rear suspension on a MK2

    Hello

Is there someone who has already built an Escort mk2 with an independent rear wheel suspension?
The front suspenion is nearly ready .
I am building an Escort MK2 with a Cosworth 4x4 driveline.
Therefor i have to use the rear diff. and create a new independent
    rear suspension.
    Hopefully someone can help me.

Just use a 6 linked Atlas, The car will handle better (Cue Gary)

Would that work with the 4wd set up at the front? Interesting

You could check out someone like Dax who build sports kit cars and have a double wishbone rear end using a sierra diff. I'm sure a few other kit cars do too, so perhaps you could graft on a rear subframe from one of their cars??

The only problem using the Atlas would be the diff ratio's... they have to be matched

same thing... diff ratios must be matched.. you'll wreck a center diff if you put 50 profiles on the front and 45's on the rear

    Thanks for the tips.

Its a very nice (and expensive) fabrication.

shouldnt be that hard to fit the sierra rear end, but it will be wider than the escort so you'll need arches.

the other thing may be to look at what the kit cars are using as a lot of the lotus 7 replicas use sierra diffs and their own suspension arms with coil over shockers.
