Well i bit the bullet and bought some compbrake 4 pots ,discs and bells but they dont fit, the pads hit the caliper mounting brackets
I have been waiting to get a new cwp ,this came on thursday so i got it fitted on friday so we could fit the engine and box on saturday
i feel as though we are getting somewhere now ,a couple more weekends and i might be ready for some testing
Looks a beauty, got a few more fancy bits than mine!!
Matt
Cheers Matt ,did you have any luck fixing yours
Thats coming along lovely Jezz, and I suspect it will be very competitive
Looks like you are a bit ahead of me, but hopefully I'll be getting a bit nearer to catching up over the next couple of weeks

Good job Dave i dont want to be the only newbie on the grid
Will do Matt hopefully this will be the end of your teething problems, other than similar head problems ,mine used to take loads of abuse, regularly reving to over 8k with no problems, when we stripped it down we found it only had standard rod bolts still held together ,not sure how
thats looking very nice matey

It would seem my computer skills are not good enough !!
thanks Guys !
Cheers Ant hopefully you will see it in the flesh in March
What wheels and tyres are you going to run on it?
Matt
Hi Matt on this one we are going to try 10x13,s Andy who built my engine and is helping with the wide track has lent me his wheels and tyres to try he used to run these on his own nova and said it was very competitive
Hi Matt i have got a set of comp th3,s i think ,a set of vauxhall cesaro alloys and 3 odd rl7,s all 6x15 all et49,not sure what to sell at the moment as i need to keep some to get the car on the trailer but will let you know when i decide to sell
Any progress?
What a fantastic job you've done of that - I'd be very proud!! Novas will always be a classic rally car shape for me
Whatever you do, don't put a tasty Mk1/2 Escort under my nose
Only a little progress Tom ,fitted the brakes and bled them re fitted the carbs but still wont run properly ,i think its the fuel pump so im going to buy a new one as it previously used to run up to pressure and cut off ,but it just keeps running now even when the car isnt running so once i have fitted a new one Andy is going to come round and adjust the carbs ,i have also got to find a new throttle cable as mine is knackered
Cheers Paul hopefully it will end up half as nice as your new Ka
nice project more pics please
Come on Jezza, I'm catching you up

Your not wrong Dave ,you had better get used to trying to catch me up
Looking good What size engine did you decide to use in the end?
Its only a 1400 so no chance of competing with you guys but its all a learning curve for me at the moment
You're in class E then, I don't know about not competing with "us" I would think that a well sorted/driven 1400 Nova would be a match for my car and probably some of the others in class D ( I only started racing last year BTW)
When is your first race?
just had a read through this thread jez, excellent work m8 and the best of luck in the dmn fella.i'll be down to a few rounds of this this year again i think
Thats looking really good fella

Went to HT,s today to put the car on the rollers, made almost exactly the same power it made before its freshen up 114bhp and93lbft thought it might of made a bit more as its had a fair bit of work block decked and porting of the inlet manifold etc but no it wont make any more power after 6400 but the cam should be good for 8kand altering the cam timing didnt seem to make much differencelooks like the minis will be leaving me behind on the straights,i will just have to try harder in the bends
Hi Nick it has made 113bhp and96lbft at Torque of the Devil, not sure on the CR but i know Andy who rebuilt it for me has decked the block to give more protrusion,i am also not running an alternator now
I think that you'll probably find that HTs rollers read differently so I wouldn't worry about the actual figures
