Peugeot 3008 tried to start itself

Just as i arrived at work i parked my car and switched off the ignition. However the starter motor started cranking itself, i then lost all electrics and had acrid Smoke belting out from under the bonnet. The AA came and had a look and found that the starter was completely burnt out but couldn't find a reason ....he suspects its the fuse board .....has anyone else came across anything like this

used to be common fault on vauxhalls, caused by a faulty ignition switch, but i suspect in this case its more likely a stuck stater relay

it might not have a separate relay, with a reg number to look up a wiring diagram its a guessing game

It is not unusual to see cars on fire slowly drive themselves across the road due to the starter motor shorting.....you have to chase it with the hoseline!
