i have a atlas axle on my mk1 escort with bubble arches
and need no what offset wheels i need ?
i have got from the half shaft wheel face
4 inches at the front from face
6 inches at the rear of face
so need 10 inch wide wheels max overall width can be narrower tho

If I understand your measurements correctly, a ET-25 wheel should fit nicely in the space you have.
Remember that a 9x13 wheel actually is about 9.75 inch wide in totall.

can you clarify....do you have 4" outboard or 6" outboard???
If its 4" outboard then you need ET25.....if its 6" outboard you need et-25 as our Netherlands friend has suggested.

To retain you 4" outboard ...as previously suggested you need a 9" wheel at ET 25
Alternativly you could run an 8" wheel at ET 12 or a 7" (though I'd doubt you'd want to!!)at ET0

so the 8" wheel at ET 12 would have a biiger dish to the wheel yes
and the
9" wheel at ET 25 wouldnt have much dish to the wheel at all
nopepositive offset means the hub is closer to the outside edge of the wheel, so less dish
for more dish you need more negative offset... but then its dependant on the overall rim width
a 9" wheel is 25mm wider than an 8", with the offsets youve got there, it will have slightly more dish (12mm) i think

actually no, they would have exactly the same dish (or near enough) and the inch would be made up in backspace... i hate calculating offset, it bends my mind
if ive got it right... a 9" rim is 25mm wider than an 8", with the same offset it would have 12.5mm extra either side, so if it has a positive offset 13mm more than the 8" youve brought the outside edge to the same point as the 8" and shifted the extra width to the back

This may help
1. Measure the overall width of wheel (OW)
2. Measure the 'T' dimension, which is the measurement from the back of the bolt up face to the outside of the inner rim
3. Divide the overall width by two which gives the centre line
4. Subtract the centre line figute from the 'T' dimension
ET=T-OW

My 9x15 are ET-25
To fit a 8x15 on the front of an escort you need ET0
To fit a 7x15 on the front of an escort you need ET12

How I HATE THE TERM DISH!!!!!
i'TS MEANINGLESS!!!. The 2 wheel options would have the same amout of wheel coming outboard...the speciafic design of wheel you choose will dictate if you have more cosmetic rim. If the were both 3 piece using the same format of centre then they would both use the same outer rim section
Not aware of anyone making a classic wheel in 9" with an ET 25 though so you my need to go 3 piece anyway for that option
What diameter where you looking at ? 13" or 15 (or something else)

and i think its going to be easyer to go for an 8 inch wheel

deffo...the 8" Compomotive ML is ideal as it looks good and is available in a variety of offsets (they'll even machine them specific to what you want).....and they are just down the M54 from you!!!
