    Carbtune Pro - carb balancing

Anyone used this kit? I looking to purchase something to keep on top of balancing my DHLA dellortos. I can’t get your usual synchronizer in there due to the lack of room.

are these carbtune kits as accurate as you can get?

bit of half inch hose has always done me great, and is very cheap, if both carbs sound the same and the engine idles smoothly thats close enough

Am I right in thinking that carb balancing is only an idle thing and that it makes little difference at half/full noise? Unless of course they are massively out...

Yea your probably right, but I’d sooner have it spot on rather than potentially causing damage if being left to idle

Un-balanced carbs are unlikely to cause damage - the worst idle in the world won't cause damage unless it shakes itself to bits!
The colourtune kits only work at idle and also rely on the idle jetting being correct in the 1st place as rely on colour of the flame.

Have a Carbtune kit but never used it.
Normally tune the carbs by ear (not with the length of tube though, my hearing is too good) and with a IR temp meter.
If twin carbs are unbalanced you will get bad running from idle upto the rpm that the main stage is fully in.

Thanks for reply’s, Iv borrowed a carb tune kit today. Completely balanced all 4 chokes and the initial throttle is a huge amount better, blip the throttle and the engine response is perfect
