hi all

coloum change 4speed.
i know i can mount the v6 in there without to much
of issue but..........
will the v6 bolt up to the standard gearbox as i want to keep it
coloum change?
i not after huge power at all i just want to use a standard v6.
cheers

no the v6 wont bolt up to the standard gearbox, and even if it did the torque would kill it very quickly as well as giving a practically useless 1st gear as the ratio will be far to low for the v6

If column change is where you want to be why not go auto and source a Mk4 Zehpyr column shift auto....I think it was a BW35

some zephyr zodiac mk4 were column change and overdrive as well, you can also use mk3 zephyr box using a scimitar bellhousing

Your column change gearbox will be fine mated to a V6 Zodiac engine mate.I once owned a genuine Cortina Savage. Its gearbox was a pukka 2000E, exactly the same as a standard 1200 item apart from the close ratio gears. What you need is a Corsair V4 bell-housing and cross-member and exhaust system.A dodle conversion this one, everything pretty much bolts on...Used to be back in the days when dumped Zodiacs and Corsairs where abundant lol!

Re: 3.0 v6 into a mk2 cortina?
hi ya mate dunno if you have already sourced your v6? but i have just brought a mk1 cortina which already has a 3litre v6 in it with a manual gearbox. i have no use for it and im looking to sell it if your interested?? literally all you would need to do is cut a new hole for where your gear stick will come out im pretty sure the mounting of the engine will be the same on the mk2 as my mk1 ??
