    Crossmember Help

    Hi guys

Got an issue with my Zetec install, sump is sitting on the steering rack.

Was told SA crossmembers are different and weirdly what I have on my UK car as well is same as my spare SA shell's crossmember.

So went and bought a MK1 Mexico CrossMember, its a couple of CM narrower, great. However engine is still sitting on the steering rack!

Any ideas before I lose my mind :/ Ive got three different cross members, none work and ive been told time and time again by the guy who done the sump and mounts that they are correct.

Is it possible to space the engine mounts up a little or notch out the crossmember?
    What sump is it?

    Got 50 mm mounts.

I can modify it no problems, but I dont really want to as ive paid good money for this to supposedly fit out of the box..

Are you on std X member or World Cup? Normally a std X member is slotted where the mounting bolts for the rubbers go through. Can you jack up the engine and make a spacer to go between the rubber mount and X member? That should raise your engine to clear the sump problem fouling.
