    1600x/f

hi i,ve just bought a 1600 x/flow with a 681 block .im looking to upgrade parts like the cam and fuel pump (old one is a glass bowl) are most of the parts interchangeable with a 711 block.im not going to have it bored out or do anything wild ,so is it worth doing or just buy a 711 enginge straight off?thanks

yes and theres no point in buying a 711 for the sake of it especially if you arnt doing anything radical

They are essentially the same block but the 711 is thicker around the bores and therefore stronger and easier to bore out to a larger capacity. They share the same bolt patterns so part changing shouldn't be an issue especially if in standard state.

Believe some gaskets are different, they sell the right kits ...
