1600 crossflow into MK1 Escort fitted with 1300 crossflow

Hi I am in the process of getting ready to fit a 1600 into my 1300 MK1 Escort.
It’s a 1970 car and the crossmember is the type with a single hole where the engine mounts bolt to not the slotted type.
Are there different type of MK1 Escort crossmembers?
The 1300 engine mounts have a hole where a bolt screws into.
The 1600 mounts that came with the new engine have a bolt protruding from them and secures with a nut.
Will the 1600 engine fit my crossmember with the single hole in it or will I have to make a slot in it?
I believe the 1600 mounts are different sizes.
Also does anybody know what size nut fits on the 1600 mounts?

better to slot the xmember as easier to fit ( use 1600 mounts, byt 1300 may be ok ) try an m10 nut but probably imperial , 11/16?
someone will know which side the short one goes on x/f but post a pic best in case wrong mounts.
exhaust may need a bash if too short ( 1600 higher)
if using 1300 sump you need to tap it out to clear crank / rods.
    suck it and see really

1300 and 1600 blocks are the same width so you can use the 1300 mounts, you will need a 1600 exhaust manifold
As block is an inch taller should bolt straight in other than that, I’d slot the crossmember like later style ones

1300 and 1600 blocks are the same width, but 1600 sump is deeper is if 1300 mounts are used then sump might sit on the cross member.

i have seen cars with 1300 exhausts, they sat very close to the floor

Is the crossmember slotted just for ease of fitment?
Will the 1600 engine site at the right position in my non slotted crossmember?
Does anybody know how far down the slot the 1600 mount sits?

it is when i fit something in escort but there are so many small things that make a difference , soggy rubbers etc. i find it easier to get it low then use 3mm plate shims to raise but a x/f should fit ok tbh. try the hole if thats what you prefer , it doesnt take long to pull back out if needed

My '69 Mk1 has the bolt hole x-member too, but the engine it came with was an early Xflow (681F/691F?) - The engine mounts for that will not allow a 711M to fit as the 711M block's slightly wider. I had to narrow (cut&weld) one of the mounts to allow the 711M to fit in there, using the later stud mount as a guide.
