Rad fan shattered

Running manual fan on my pinto.on rolling rd yesterday it shattered into about 6 pieces bolts still firmly attached to pully!!what could cause this? Cheap chinese shite?

unless its new probably old age! my dyno cell fan did the same thing, only thats nearly 3 foot dia, it made a hell of a noise as the blades clattered down the chimney, oddly i didnt find all of them, a couple must of made it out the top.

Was bought new off ebay.say no more
