pinto deck height

I am rebuilding my race 2.0l pinto after a piston failure. It is a 5.7" long rod motor and the new pistons are 10 thou below the deck, can i just reduce my head gasket by 10 thou and all is good, or do i need to deck the block to suit?

you could do either but reduce the block height is the better way to do it
