    Front suspension options using standard Legs

    Hi Lads hoping i can get some help with this;

    - Put my -2inch lowered springs on my Mk2 1300 legs (standard dampers) yesterday and the springs fall out of the cups when the cars weight is off them. If i fit replacement inserts like Spax are these shorter and will they eliminate this problem as I dont want to start wrapping jubilee clips round the bottom coils etc.

    - If the above isn't an option can i get my standard Mk2 1300 legs converted to coilovers by GAZ and if so could i have a link for this as i'm struggling to find info on it and what poundage springs would i need (1600X/F fitted).

    Basically i want my car -2inch lower and a bit stiffer for fast road conditions. Is there a proven and tested method using standard legs?

    Thanks in advance,

    yes what you said you dont want to do, wire the springs in position. 145 or 175lb springs are good on an x/flow powered road escort.

    if you want gaz to convert your legs they will know what needs doing/supllying

    Are there not shortened shocks you can fit to get around this?

    Thats cool, it just felt like i was bogding it by clamping the springs but if its common practice and the only way around it then that looks like the way to go.

    Thanks for you help mate,
