years ago i used to read questions in back of CCC mag like " im fitting a v8 in my morris 1000, whats the best gearbox to use " and think it was made up
but today i read a FB post " fitting an st170 in my mk2 - whats best front suspension - std or coilovers " and realise that people really do not have a clue and are modding cars

i saw a great one today, a picture of someone holding a pinto dipstick (upsidedown) and asking whats the best oil level to run on a 2.1 pinto? i guess it would be a different level for a 2.0?

I used to love reading the Q &A pages in Street Machine and Custom Car. Questions like the V8 into (insert any old Brit car) would appear regularly. At least in those mags folks would get an educated reply.
With questions on FB, my worry is that it’s the blind following the blind. The correct answer to the ‘best’ suspension question becomes the one from the guy who shouts loudest.
