I wont bore everyone with this love hate affair owned the car for 6 years at the age of 20 and did very little with it:
When I got it:
Had a couple of weeks on fun in it then it dropped a valve and the paint had minor imperfections outside and inside needing tidying up but I wasnt too bothered then I was young and going by MK1 prices these days it was a steal.

Ive picked up a straight cut type9 and aspirated cossie engine for it now:
When it was at the bodyshop to eliminate the minor imperfections it was taken back to bare metal and had some minor repairs to. There was about 3-4 colours still underneath it which was strange.

And thats pretty much how it finished up the pinto has been rebuilt but recently bought a lovely na cossie package and type 9 straight cut quaife box there were a few repairs we werent happy with and its been wheeled in to sort out this week and get the new engine in and basically a whole brand new car of parts from Burton and Peter Lloyd Rallying.

confused are you cutting welding after you had it painted or are the photos in the wrong order???

Havent updated for quite a while.
Floors ready for the cage and seat bars
Then turned to the underside
You can see the old mans mk2 in the background in this one
Underside was completely rubbed back, etched primed and painted unfortunately didnt get any pics
The lower underside was repainted. After the extensive work and replacement of the whole floor practically the paint had faded and obviously got damaged due to the welding

I wasnt happy with a few things when it was painted previously it looked nice but there was a small dent in the bulkhead I always wanted sorted and due to the car having so much work now and work it didnt really need I thought its got to this stage why not just repaint the engine bay

The underside being reassembled everythings basically brand new apart from the leaf springs which were shot blasted and then powdercoated.

Had the car detailed from a pal of mine. It needed a good clean after being in a workshop for 2months
And thats how it basically sits a few little issues getting sorted currently. Fitted a brand new alternator from burtons but doesnt seem to be charging so thats been sent back, the hydraulic clutch is causing a few issues the pedal randomly keeps moving which is odd but apart from that its all finished just have a few last few bits to sort the doorcards and door pulls.
And crazily its booked in for the retro ford track day at brands. Not really sure its the best car for my first track day its a little too nice to use imo.
