    type 9 oil drain plug position ?

    yes i know, it doesnt have one

    so where is the best point to drill / tap one ?

    anyone done this ?

    i'd rather not drill holes in the casing, they arnt the strongest of things.

    A better idea to save weakening the casing may be to weld a length of tube into the top cover that goes down into the lowest part and allows you to connect a vacuum pump on to suck the oil out when changing, imagine a straw welded in?

    Type 9's have been drilled and tapped many times for a drain plug, google "drain plug type 9" i'm sure loads of pictures will come up of best place to put it
    its not dead till it's buried!

    I drilled a hole at the rear of mine, fitted/welded a boss over hole so no leaks, and at least as strong as before, I did this at the rear so that I simply could then drive up on the car ramps and oil went to rear for easy pour!!
