Has anyone else brought a new Transit custom??

Just wondered if anyone else on here has got one... How is it? We brought one as a company vehicle and out of the 6 months we've owned it its spend 3 months in the garage.
In total we have had....SPEEDO FAILURE, ABS FAILURE, TRACTION CONTROL FAILURE, CRUISE CONTROL FAILURE, AIRBAG FAILURE, HILL START ASSIST FAILURE, DRIVER ASSIST FAILURE, LANE ASSIST FAILURE, REAR CAMERA FAILURE .

This video show's the repeated problems we have encountered with our "2013 International van of the year" (???) Ford Transit Custom, purchased from Hartwell Ford Dunstable 28/1/2013. ALL The faults listed started occurring when the vehicle was just 6 days old. The Van has returned to an authorised Ford dealership for warranty works 5 times in 6 months . When this video was shot at the start of July the vehicle still DID NOT WORK!

Send it back as not fit for purpose and get a refund.
I think it is easier to do this via the company you had the HP with (assuming it wasn't bought outright)

You went all the way to Dunstable to buy a transit. You should have bought a British built Vivaro from just 2 miles down the road - much better!

the renault box is not a pure auto box, its a manual with servo controls.

amazingly they have become pretty reliable in recent years, my vauxhall (same thing as renault) has had two breakdowns in 157,000 miles, a rear axle link recently snapped, although i cant blame it, we give our vans some serious stick. my van has spent its whole life loaded upto and beyond its max weight and done tens of thousands of miles towing as the same time, and earlier this week i had a crank pulley give up, still got home though it just meant no charging so eventually the battery went flat, although again, because the way we use our vans the engines spend far more time running than the mileage alone suggests

Re: Has anyone else brought a new Transit custom??

Because we live in cornwall we were trying to avoid the standard vw transporter route.... (Mistake!!) so the tranny was so much more for our money. We are trying to refuse the vehicle but they are being totally hideous to deal with and basically can't fix it so want to take ours in part ex and SELL us a new one (taking into account depreciation and mileage)??! How is it fair for us to spend more money? Complete nightmare... All we wanted was trouble free motoring!
