    Brakes??

well lads, having problems with the brakes on my mk3 escort, I have 300mm discs and brembo callipers on the front and std mk3 fiesta front set up on the rear with a bias box calling the shots, Having problems with "feel" in the pedal it only travels about an inch until the front wheels lock up, I have a .625 cylinder on the front and .750 on the rear with bias wound over to the rear cylinder completely, would she need a different size cylinder for the front or something else? Cheers

I suggest you bin the Fiesta calipers on the back and fit the rear calipers off any Sierra/Granada with solid discs. You don't need so much braking at the back of an Escort and that will allow the bias to be adjusted. Leave the master cylinders until you have tried the new set up. It will also give you a handbrake.

would it not be handier fit a proportioning valve rather than change the brake set up, rears aren't locking with max bias so I cant see a problem??

you dont say what front calipers you are using. if your not locking the rears but have a really firm pedal fitting a portioning valve will probably make things worse.

if you fit a bigger cylinder to the front you will reduce pedal travel, but increase rear bias

dont know anything about them. but its curious you are not over braked at the rear. as you suggested a portioning valve may help, but sometimes that can make matters worse by preventing the rear cylinder form moving. a bigger front cylinder will reduce from effort, but lastly before you go changing stuff, take a look at your pedal box, by lengthing one master pushrod and shortening the other you can adjust the bias more even though you have run out of adjustment on the adjuster
