    Body Filler, Hard Edge?

    Hello all

The last bit of filler I put on my rear arches has been sanding off with a hard/rough edge to it, rather than feathering off nice and smooth. You can't really feel it with your fingers but you can see the difference. I've never seen this happen before and was wondering what's the cause? Will it have to be sanded right off before I can filler over again? Or is it not a problem to filler over?

Watering down your filler with fibreglass resin and go over it might help.
It gives you a much smoother paste to work with. Very good at filling pinholes in the other filler too.

Should I take the last of it off or will it be alright to go over?
Do you think it's just not set properly due to the cold maybe? Seems properly set but I can't see why it would sand like this otherwise

my guess is the previous layer of filler had a dusty surface, and if the new filler is a bit dry it wont adhere properly

I have been doing filler all day on mine it's been setting fine for me. Have you roughed it up as it needs a good key to grip to, I took everything off mine so started on bare metal all over there was a shed full of filler all over mine

I would take it off and use a different type. I can see your problem there. Deffo see that once it's primered
