I had a bubble arch Mk1 with HT racing on the front screen.

I bought a mk1 Mex in about 1988 from a feller in G'ford who had a red mk2 Tina.It had a Burton engine when I saw it.Only just got it.Mex reg was XEV 400L black and primer

I kept the Mex for a while,did some remedial work on it then sold it to a mate for a couple of hundred quid profit.He got bored of it pretty quick and sold it to another mate of mine who grass tracked it and f***ed it.Bent it in half as I recall,so that was the end of that
It wasn't till years later that I discovered that there were only about 50 odd black ones made

aaaahhhh,this threads getting more like 'friends reunited'!!! although nothing wrong with that.its funny ain't it how all the old petrol heads flock together,a right old trip down memory lane,I often wonder lately if its me,or me tina people remember so fondly!!although I do believe we are now one and the same,I v'e owned it so bloody long!! the amount of people I don't know from adam that ask me'wheres your cortina'?,well the answer is out soon hope fully.my x pack was a stop gap whilst I was putting the cossie lump in the cortina in '91',it had the tina pinto engine in it with an lsd,a right laugh!! I sold it back to the guy who my mate had bought it from,had to use the money to pay me mortgage,what a waste!! last I heard,he was in financial difficulties,and the car was 'stolen', never to be seen again,real shame.the guy with the mk 1 from ht,did you come from gravesend? if so ,I do remember you. puddy

Brodmoor, Rick ever get that dark green Mk2 RS2 sorted? I was going to buy it off him many years ago but he was keen to sort it himself, he still buying and selling parts like there's no tomorrow? Say hi from me when you see him next.

Talking of HT's I miss my Mk1 bubble, remember it, it was mid/dark blue with a yellow HT racing accross the front, sold it to some Portuguese rally nut who pranged it the following season, the Portuguese loved the engine so much they shipped Rolly over there to build them on a production line. Last I heard he spends most of his time over there building engines for them.

Mark, the x has disapeared indeed, I had one a few years ago, took it to National Day Silverstone where they had a special display with 20 odd there and yours wasn't there so just wondered. Anyway Big Dave conned me into selling her to him saying he'll give here a better home! (you know it's true dave!) Sold my Saph i'd owned for 7 years last year so I am for the first time in 12 years Rs-less.

Am still toying with a Cossied Mk2 but have been for years, anyone got a good RS2 to start me off!

just slapped it together with some bits I had lying around
Basically a tweaked pinto, with 44 IDF's
Coilover fronts D/width kit, polybushes
Leda decambered single leafs, panhard, tramps,
LSD
harnesses etc,
Budget tracky style.
It's great fun but I have knocked a big end out so need to build a better bottom end for it,

1st in 'fastcar' in 1989 ,the first ever dyno shootout feature in a magazine,with a pinto in it 155bhp @ f/w!!! yes it was at ally pally classic car show on the 'lotus cortina registers' stand with a cossie in it, can't remember the year ,92? cheers ,puddy.

mk1 tina & yep it will be cossie powered as it is the only way to go it wont be as powerfull as yours but it will still be a beast

its just that one of the guys who meet up there on saturdays is also doing a mk1 tina cossie,he,s from f/boro also.And robin is as well,common as muck these mk1 tina cossies!!! puddy.

went to see my car a gartrac yesterday it is looking really nice ! the gear box tunnel etc is really neat and i like the turrets he has put in at the front. wont be long know till i get it back 3-4 weeks with a bit of luck anyway i will most likley see you sat afternoon at the yard if you go up. l8trs jimmy
