Group buy: Mk2 escort carbon fibre bonnet

After speaking to Raj at Autoflock he has very kindly offered to do a group buy on carbon fibre bonnets for a mk2 escort. They will have some ribs for strengthening but no hinge mountings so will need to be retained by pins which will make them both lighter and cheaper. They are an infused part so are very strong and also lighter than the inferior wet lay process that is used for many cheaper products.


If he receives 3+ orders the price is £375 delivered.

A slight amendment, threaded inserts can be added at no extra cost so you can use oem hinges but must use pins at the front.

Morning chaps, its best to keep participating names up on here, that way everyone is up to date with what is going on with orders/progress etc.

In regards to the finish these bonnets will be finished to a high shine due to the quality of the mould, they will not be lacqured but just given a quick clean and a good polish. Should you want to make them dull/satin/matt for any reason this can easily be achieved by a simple flat with 2000 grit and then a polish afterwards.

I was planning on doing the boot later this year but if there is enough interst I shall get onto it earlier.

I shall also post up pictures of the whole process so you can all see and understand what is exactly involved with the manufacture of a body panel from start to finish.

Right chaps just to confirm the above names are all for a Carbon fibre replacement bonnet, 100% carbon with strengthening inner ribs and optional hine location points.

These bonnets are not made from polyester but from UV treated Epoxy resin. In regards to heat there shouldnt be any issues but if you are running a turbo'd yb heat reflective tape is recomended on the underside which I can apply at extra cost due to it being very expensive.

Once the above people and anyone else interested has confirmed to this post I shall post details of how to make the deposit and also the begin updating people in the order of delivery. First deposit paid once confirmed = the first person to have theirs started.

Right then, thanks lads for the confirmation, deposits of £75.00 to be paid to pay@autoflock.co.uk, if this can be done before sunday then I can begin the moulding process Monday, please post up on here when payment has been made and I shall start to compile the list/order of manufacture.

Im currently finishing a new roof mould which will be finalised in the next few days so Monday would be a good starting point for the bonnet. Also pics of the manufacturing process will be uploaded so everyone is aware of the current status. If we end up having 5 plus deposits paid before the first carbon part is made then the final price will be reduced to £350.00. Many thanks
