Anyone know of a rod to meet these specs?

    Hi,

I'm after a rod to match either of these specs (OEM or steel/forged):

    142.9mm C-C, 46mm BE, 16mm LE (can be bushed/sleeved)

    or:

    137mm C-C, 46mm BE, 20mm LE

Or if anyone can suggest alternatives any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Also, If a piston (and it's rings) are designed to run in a coated cylinder, would using different rings (same dimensions but different material) allow them to run in an uncoated cylinder?

    Thanks

i will think about the rods, but regarding your piston/ring question, yes as long as the rings are suitable for the bore material, then it doesnt matter about which type of bore the piston was originally for.

Thanks Graham, doesn't matter if the rods are slightly shorter as I can deck the block to suit but they can't be any longer.

This is pretty close... might be a touch long though.....

    Suzuki M16-M18 45mm BE 20mm SE 138mm CC

    From here http://www.spoolimports.com/spool-info/conrod-specs

Apparently the M16 conrods are 2mm shorter at 136mm?

    Hope this helps,

Thanks, I Think I can get a Rover/MG K series rod to work and deck the block to suit then.

    Thanks All!
