Megasquirt injector change
Hey guys how easy is it to swap out the injectors to some largers ones? Obviously not talking about the mechanically side otherwise i would have posted in the engine building section.
I have an awesome map on my car that im happy with but i will be turboing it soon and that will exceed my current injectors capacity.
Is it just a case of adjusting the injector charactorisrics in my megasquirt ecu? Thanks

You may get away with just adjusting the overall fuel but if your adding a turbo then it will need a complete remap.

Re: Megasquirt injector change
what alladdin said.
dont forget with a turbo you will need to run a map sensor to read boost and therefore make adition adjustments to timing and fueling on boost
in emerald ecus you can re-scale the map to suit different size injectors, but it doesnt work out exactly right so although it will be reasonably close you still have to go over the map again.
so if your going to fit a turbo later change the injectors then

Re: Megasquirt injector change
Im currently running Map on my megasquirt. I set it all up last year and drove it down to the rolling road. Theres a setting call Req Fuel this will adjust the scaling that you can adjust to match set injector fuel rate (not forgeting the specific injector characteristics like Dead time)
I was kind of hoping I wouldnt have to adjust the VE as that mapping is perfect. would this be the case with boost piping etc?
Just the boost section will need tweaking as I go...

Re: Megasquirt injector change
as i said, you cant adjust to suit different size injectors but even off boost the map will no longer be 100% correct, and i cant see that even off boost the current map will still be correct. lets not forget the ignition timing too
imho if you want it correct you will need a total remap,
