        No Mark, I think you've been on the beer again

        Cheers though guys, Intercooler looks good, just need to get a rad to fit perfectly in the gap now and we're laughing. Maybe 3 of Richard's Polo ones will do it

            If you want both inlet and outlet on the same side of the car then a mk4 golf gti rad is pretty much full engine bay width for about £50

              Dave did you use one of those special offset rulers when you were marking out the holes in that upright

                Yes I always keep one handy when drilling highly visible holes

                  What I'm after Rich is as thick (Core) a rad as I can find but it only needs to be about 500mm wide and 450mm tall as either side of the intercooler will be blocked of to stop the air trying to bypass it.

                  The outlets are on the diagonals but opposite to the normal escort setup Any thoughts?

                    Did a couple more bits today.
                    Fitted the intercooler mounts to the anti-dive kit and tidied up the remaining metal on the inside of the front panel ready for the ally panels to go in either side of the cooler.

                    Painted in a few of the black bits that had been cut and straightened out the holes in the front panel a little for Jon

                            If that rad doesn't fit Dave, try here http://www.radiatorsonline.co.uk/buy-car-radiators.php. I prefer to try and make standard oem bits fit as they are much cheaper and easier to replace

                              Know what you mean Rich, origional parts are a good way to go but when the lovely one off ally stuff comes up at the right price you cant say no

                              Just have to be careful not to bump the front too hard

                                Right, thanks to Jezz I now have a lovely alloy rad. Picked it up today so I thought I'd give it a quick mock up and it fits like a dream

                                Here's how well it fits;

                                Even trial fitted a bit of my old rad top hose with the temp sender in it and that goes on easy, so now I can get the same but in samco made up
