Just looked on Pipers site and the bp285 kit is speced with single springs. The give 8 thou and 10 thou valve clearances same as standard. The outers on mine are not coil bound it hard to see the inners though.
What would be the best course of action then? Is it bad practice to change the followers only? And how would double springs affect things if it should be on singles?
