    Smiffy retains the Classic Ford title for the fastest Escort ever tested.

    7th February 2006 - CF Thrash - Bruntingthorpe proving ground


    Darren Smith retains his Classic Ford title and breaks into the 170's, the highest speed for an Escort ever recorded by Classic Ford.
    The top speed run was performed with Darren driving and Clint as a passenger while trying to diagnose a missfire that had plagued the car for some time.
    Darrens Mk1 Escort runs a T4 powered Sierra Cosworth engine built and mapped by Clint. Look out for the up and comming Classic Ford feature and a new Turbosport article that will invite you to learn more about Smiffy and the development of his car.
