Matt, with your front bushes and anti-tramps when you apply power, the nose will lift approx 1.5 so the prop will be in a straight line.
Your manta uses torque tube to launch, ie a solid connection to somewhere near the C of G of the car.. well on the manta it falls short, hence the lift at the rear only ..
but a prop cant lift the car, it has a flexable joint .. perhaps running teh prop straight saves on trans losses..
