My Focus ST3 undergoing some mods [update 20/03/08]

Had the car a couple of weeks, so its time to start modding




First up is to get it remapped, there are a few options, Superchip , Dreamscience and Wolf

I've opted for the Dreamscience, partly as they are doing a special price this week and partly as it offers a few more options, like a shift light and 5 different maps and can be moved to other cars, unlike the Superchip

So fingers crossed, one of these should turn up tomorrow

Turned up this morning and got the map installed on my tea break.

Car starts and drives as normal really, until you use more than 1/2 throttle, then the boost gauge goes off the scale (rather than just half way) and it really pulls hard.

2nd gear needs some care now, as it wants to spin the wheels.

Very happy with the results


Now to start planning the next upgrade.

Lowered spring and exhaust are the most likely.

Lol good stuff, although a little tame. You want to drive the bre nova (with turbo!!) needs care in 3rd otherwise it wheelspins violently all the way to 80mph

Whats it like on fuel although im guessing its probably early days!??

nice car..i just got an st-2 yesterday..few questions..how much did the chip cost?? do you have a link to were you purchased??do u know if this invalidates the warranty?? as mine is only 10 month old..cheers..

The readout showed 15 mpg after my test drive lunch time

Will get a better reading over the weekend as im off down my Mums

However they are offering a discount to members of www.focusSToc.co.uk , which is where I read about and got one for £399

It will invalidate the warranty, but you can reload the standard map in 4 minutes, so they shouldn't find out.

There is a Ford approved one, made by Wolf called Code RED

Nice car, a friend has a white one with blue stripes and the wheels powder coated white too. He has gone for the dreamscience kit and is very happy

The Ford 6 disc unit sounds OK, but is lacking is almost all features, won't even play mp3's

So have replaced it with this JVC KW-AVX710 for only £350 and added the bluetooth option too.

Sounds much better and can play DVD full of MP3's as well as DIVx movies.

Got the shop to add some security to the car too while I was there.

Thought I'd fit the Stereo myself though (how hard can it be ?) turns out to be a real ball ache.

Had to even cut the dash about, thankfully this is hidden when the unit is fitted though.
