    \'miles to the tenner\'

Can never be bothered working out proper MPG, and always used 'MPT' to guage the economy of my cars!
    So what do you get?

Currently I get 75 out of a tenner in my Capri......
(which works out pretty expensive considering I do 25k a year)

    Re: \'miles to the tenner\'

My BlackBird does about 120 miles on £10
The Cossie did 200 miles on £40 (I was caning it as it's new to me) so thats 50 mpt But the more I drive it the better the mpt becomes (as I stop flooring it to hear the cone filter )
The Golf does about 100 mpt (16v 2litre)
My Transit does about 80 mpt (2.5 diesel)
    I don't know about the Mk 2 's , I suspect not very good

I used to have a Porsche 928S Manual.

I had to put a tenner in to go to the garage for another tenners worth

Worst I got from it would have been about 22 MPT

Mark what did you think of the 928S?. Apart from the fuel consumption that is.

I have always wanted one - bit of a schoolboy fantasy.

There is a blue one I drive past every time I go to see my parents still makes me just a little bit.

    Re: \'miles to the tenner\'

It was fantastic, I had always liked em, my step brother got a S2 auto and that was great, but I had a S manual, with full sportpack, LSD, wide track rear etc, leather and elctric everything.

Was very quick, real handful to drift, and on narrow bumpy lanes at high speed, but handling was excellent on fast smooth surfaces, huge mid and late corner speed.

The fuel comsumption was good on a run (below 110mph on motorways), managed 30mpg one weekend away.

Wasn't even that dear to fix if you do it yourself for normal service type stuff, (some bits are frighteningly pricey though).

Definitely great car, build quality is fantastic, it just got a bit too impractical to have another toy car so had to sell.

    Some pics of it

I get about 75-80 MPT out of my 1600 crossflow around town. I am sure its possible to get a lot more if taking it easy on the peddle but can never resist it. I've got a Rover 620 which is about the same 80 MPT so I am quite happy with what I get from the MK2 because its way more fun to drive.
