my 1 should be done when your ones finished too m8 still waiting for my m8 to finish the welding though
nice one Dave,
I love harriers me
Mines had pretty much all welding done
Sills, back arches and the headlamp plates in the front panal and some major reconstruction on the rear window/pillar area only needs a bit on the seam of the tank wells to boot floor area and a bit of rust by heater bubble and a bit on the n/s inner wing. Still has original top plates Just put the engine in the mk1 as its 1300 died yesterday and after 6 years of sitting where it was in that pic it fired up first time big grin
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
Looks Nice Mate

More pictures Dave! Engine bay, inside, boot etc - God I'm sad/bored
Ok will do mate, tomorrow as its raining at the mo and i dont want him getting wet! Its on original strut tops and they are mint boot is fine too, think its had tank wells done but may be wrong...need to have another look! Floors are mint...had new inner sills at some point and front corners but thats it Just needs a few bits sorting then get it sprayed up in a few weeks hopefully
Actually i think i might go out in a min im bored lol, no insside shots tho cos theres loads of shite in there at the mo
git!!
Loads of pics as requested
Rear light well out from a smash in the rear corner Cant even get the nut on the back of the light unit!
This was all rotted to fook and repaired by last owner with millions of plates and tubs of filler
Autosol is my friend
A few gay bits in the boot shut bit
And the rear roof pillar
More filler
And some more filler i sanded all this back yesterday and its not come up too bad
Looks promising Dave - should keep you occupied for a little while. Why do harriers rot SOOOOOO badly? All the harriers i've ever seen are well fooked...bar a few. Are they rolltop seats with it also Dave?
Will look great when its finished - my mate had a stratos silver one (Bigjay now owns that) and it was gorgeous.
Cheers
Rather you than me m8, keep up the good work
Cheers Phil, thats all the bad bits that i can see tho so its not all bad (keep thinking that dave) No not rolltops, fishnets and they are fooked!
cheers for the vote of confidence fasterfords
keep up the good work fella
dave ,mondeo mark has some fishnets for sale m8
Good luck mate.. might have to pop round for a look!!
If I'm lucky mine migfht be showing up tonight!! Can't wait!!!
Jay i would if i had some more cash about, atm petrol is far more important than seats that will be sitting about for a few months bearing in mind i have a nice set of s1 rst recaros in the mk1 which i will prob put in cos they are sexy
Mark go for it mate, just give me a txt or something when your thinking of popping over, and give me another txt when yours comes
Will do mate. Mine's looking more like possibly Sunday now.
All in a days work eh Just some of the hoard i removed in a few hours....now easier for rust hunting and spraying
Whole dash stripped and front loom out....much better
Heater bubble before i poked it lots, now found some holes the other side that should just weld up rather than plating and cut the rot out there and made it a bit bigger
More tomorrow when i have a play after my physics exam....project on hold for a-levels
Oh and best bit was the £4k quote for insurance from cis
hey, nice motor mate. Get it doen quick.
mike
Lookin good, rust doesnt seem too bad does it? round the heater bubble i mean. I can fit my whole arm through the hole in mine
Na its not too bad just a few bits that are annoying me
Just a likkle update for those interested. Only really got motivated in the last 2 weeks and cracked on with the welding. Heres some pics for you all
Passenger side tank well:
Shaped and spot welded the seam.
All ground back.
Finished
Drivers door pillar, was covered in filler which hid a plate ontop of the rusty outer pillar skin causing the door to not gap up in the slightest!
All this rust and stuff in the box is all from the pillar only
All plated up, just need to weld on the door seal seam and grind back and its done!
Sex wee welding well love that bit
Nice one looking good mate.
Richard
indeed.. glad one of us is gettnig there!
Right a big update for all those interested....now 5 months later and its still nowhere near getting painted! Think the mk1 got jealous and kept breaking and stuff just to get some attention so nothing was really done all the time i had the mk1 but since thats gone ive still not done a lot but every little counts
Now for the pics
This was back in the summer a few weeks after the last update. Also found more rust in the pic and fixed that.
These are from when i baremetaled the roof about 1.5 months ago!
Only 7-9 layers of paint and the last owner had da sanded the edges back to bare metal so rather than hours of sanding i bare metaled it all! Only took about 10 hours and a few of the bare metaling things from halfrauds
Another small hole
Dust everywhere
Half done!
More recent now, all bare metal in etch primer
All of the front suspension-----> Laters Much easier to prep the bay ready for spraying now
Fresh seam sealer around the heater bubble bay side
lookin gud mate
Getting there mate, keep up the good work
