Looking good Buddy
got me axle today sent down from fostek, proper bit of kit it looks as well,i'll put some pics up tomorrow of it when i fit it all up
well axle her,got it fitted up to check the turret mount brackets then weld um on,thing ive got the wrong calipers tho ,if you look at these tom maybe you will know
Verry nice m8
The only way is sideways!!!
looking good m8 not long now (bast*rd lol)
They're the right caliper mate, but you only got half of them... you need the cradle/slider part of them too. The cradle is the rigid bit which bolts to the axle bracket, then the caliper itself (the gold bit it your picture) is the bit which moves.... Not at home right now - anyone got any pictures for pig?
Maybe this helps
cheers guys will get them tomorrow
looking good pig m8 doing a great job m8 keep it up
Looking good mate, not long before your in the queue up the pod with the rest of us
V nice Pig At the moment our Axles look extremely similar But I've got a watts rear casing cover
Cheers
Dazzle
flash bugger dazzle ,well its in now and painted.seem to have a problem with the calipers now as i've got to get some spacers made upfor the sliders to axle brackets mounts.8mm spacers now need so will get some turnt up tomorrow ,must say it looks the fooking bollox.a couple of pics cheers for the comments as well guys
That's weird about the spacers Pig, you don't normally need to do that. Sometimes a thin shim (like a washer) maybe but not 8mm... Any chance you can get some closeups of the cradle/bracket without the main body of the caliper in place? is it the same on both sides? I wonder if your cradles are a bit odd... I'll measure up one of mine and send you a diagram tomorrow!
cheers
Tom
Hi Pig,wont be long til this beast is laying rubber!!Well done
I am curious about how you have mounted the front rotors and bells to your hubs.I have the same wilwood kit on my cortina but have mounted them the opposite way around.Did you have fitting instuctions which said to mount them the way you have?I didnt get any with my kit They still work a treat though
Boost...the natural enemy of traction
the bells are they way i mounted my kit the only differance is i put the discs on opposite way round if its makes any odds ap always seem to have the leading edge of the vane rotating forwardOriginally Posted by Cossie_Phil
cheers guys,i had the discs on the other way round when i first put um on but they needed so many spacers on them where every thing kept rubbing this way seemed the easyest and best fit.Tom,sorted the spacer problem m8 i had a 2 different types of slider mount m8.1 had a bigcasting on the axle mount so all ok now m8 .got the gearbox oil cooler all up in place tonite so another job done.slowly but surely
you got a oil cooler for your gearbox?
yes al,i got a proper box not a common old t5 m8
What box you got then m8??? cant be assed to look for it in thread
And a pic of it would be nice???

Thats a nice gearbox you have there Pig, and as for that axle, well thats well up to the normal Fossie high standard, ie the absolute nuts

not to sure dave a friend of a friend was selling it,i had lent my t5 to someone so brought it and fitted it m8.not that cheap tho.see 1 on ebay for £2000 without the clutch, prop, stick and flywheel think ht's mess around with um abit as well dave
Does the box have an external / internal oil pump ?
internal m8,its the bit between the bellhousing and the casing it self near the front with the -8 pipe outlet coming out
You flash git
