Gday all
Check out my ride.
It started out life as a pine and lime GL 1600 auto with brown vynle interior and some where along its been painted white with black trim paint and had a pinto / 4 speed conversion.
Ive had it two months and so far have stripped out the front and rear suspension and replaced with kings springs and koni adjustable shocks all round.
Replaced every single bush with poly from either whiteline or super pro, new tie rod ends and front wheel bearings.
Pressure cleaned the under neath and sprayed the front inner guards and struts satin black.
The previous owner must have really enjoyed cleaning the engine bay and topping up the oil because the pcv was hopelessly blocked causing the dip stick to blow out spraying oil everywhere lol. I fixed that with a catch can set up.
Ive also fitted a new radiator and a complete new electronic dizzy/leads/plugs.
I was obsessed worth getting twin dcoe carbs so I fitted twin 45mm fajs dcoe carbs on a redline intake and twin cable centre pull throttle.
I set the carbs up with a cheap regulator due to the number of people on the interweb saying webers need 3 psi but that shit itself straight away and leaked everywhere.
Ripped the reg off and ran hose straight from the pump to the carbs and its perfect.
Dyno tune shows a mighty 81 horse at the rear wheels lol. The thing goes real nice for a stock internal pinto but i cant wait for a cam and some more compression.
I got a rally quick shift for the 4 speed from grp4 in the uk (which um absolutely amazed with its quality! Wicked thing) and a second hand saas leather wheel to help my 195 cm frame fit in the thing.
So far its been loads of fun and im keen as mustard to get my cams licence amd take my 12 year old son raxing with me at motorkhana and khanacross.
