    My new daily driver

Fancied something different and this came up for the right money

It's a 1990 944 S2, 3ltr with 211 bhp and drives mint. The previous owner spent about £4,000 on it so nothing for me to do

Looks lovely! What's it drive like?

May I ask how much that set you back? PM if you prefer, failing that just tell me to bog off!

Drives mint Hugh, really tight apart from one slight knock occasionally but I think that's an anti-roll bar bush so easy to sort. Takes off well when you give it some but you can potter about around town no problem. Well chuffed with it.

I've just been down to Northampton and back (400+ miles) and it didn't miss a beat. Cruises at [cough] 80 [/cough] all day.

The guy bought it as his company car but he's a bit of a perfectionist so he then replaced/renewed everything.

It's got new 968 front shocks, new wishbones, rear shocks, ball joints, new discs, pads & ABS sensors, new torque tube, alt belt, timing belt, balance belt, cam chain & tensioner, water pump, then had the car fully serviced etc. etc. and all the work was done by a Porsche specialist so a lot of the money is labour charges

Nice one Andy, I ran a 944 for a 2 years about 4 years ago, and it never went wrong, I did spend some cash on it though, respray, 968 17" rims, lowered, s2 rear diffuser etc, etc, top motors though, so much torque feels more like a V8 than a straight 4, if it hasnt been done get the throttle cable cam changed to a "hurry up" one costs about £20 and transforms the throttle response

                        Cheers Glyn

All I got for christmas was a sweater, I really wanted a moaner or a screamer......

Cheers for that Glyn, I'll look into it.

This one's gonna stay standard, at least that's the intention at the minute
