Escort Twin Cam circa 1969, rallied to death and re shelled with a new Ford service shell in the early 1970's



As you can see the then owner, Jack Barnard and his Nephew/navigator, Paul Beeson were quite sucessfull. This picture was taken soon after the re shell in the early 70's.




This is what it looked like in 1992, just returned to the road, 2 years after saving it from going to the scrappy.

It was all back together in 1992, and has only had bits dissasembled since.(Normal old car type problems, along with not having the money to replace everything with new parts when restoring it).

I will post some more pictures latter on.

Looks like you have done a nice job! Have you contacted the previous owner?? I bet he would be chuffed to see it back to its former glory!

Unfortunately Jack Barnard died before I finished the car but I kept in touch with his nephew Paul Beeson (the one with the hat) and it was he who gave me the old black and white pictures of JJY, having found about 20 of them in his loft last year.

He came to give them to me personally and I took him out for a drive in the car.

He told me a few things about Jack and the car, and I wrote an article for the AVO Owners Club magazine. Which I can't find at the moment as we recently moved and everything is still in boxes.

Restoration pictures are also boxed up, but I will post them.
