Raj, I just bought this for a fun car that I could use and abuse. It certainly raises eyebrows when flying past just about everything in the way!!

I am already having loads of fun pulling bits off and being back in the scrapyard challenge brigade...

You should hear it !! Oh Baby!!

Not sure of the full bottom end spec as yet but I am looking into it soon.

Its a Fancy racing Inlet Manifold and Holley Carb stuck on the top though. SO I am guessing that things have been tweaked a tad engine wise.

Front suspension is 2.8i and rear is a work of art through turrents and up into the rear shelf. Its running a 5 speed manual through Atlas axle on LSD to keep the back end lively!!

The whole body has had severe modifications to fit the engine and running gear in. There is also bracings ontop of bracings to keep the whole package as tight as a drum.

Last week I did a quick blip up a local dual carrigeway when rolling on in third. Rick was behind me in his RST and he says I was flying to say the least. I reckon when pushed it will be pretty darn rapidio. No speedo wired up yet tho. All I can say is that it goes like mad and leaves everything behind in its wake. Also goes round corners like no ones buisness!!

I just love it me!! I was already MAD by the way..

Sounds like it's a good conversion. We want performance figures, 0-60, bhp etc, get cracking!

How does it handle? does it still feel like a sporty Escort? I have heard that some big engine conversions screw the handling up but the Rover is normally good as it is light.

The handeling feels superb. The whole car is tight as a drum (never buys a round) and with all the new chasis and bracings all over the place there is no flexing as you get with some Mk1s. The V8 lump is also all alloy and so actually weighs less than a Pinto I am told (Obi Rick Kenobi). Also with the larger dimensions the engine sits a lot further back in the bay with a reworked bulk head along with the gearbox and also seating position. This all brings the weight more central in the car and so more even overall. The back axle is also slightly wider and then wheels are 8" all round so it sqats down pretty well and throws tarmac all over the place with the LSD. I am very impressed so far and it feels a lot better than any other mk1 (Not driven the BDA yet!) I have been in to date. I would also say it feels a lot better than the XPack so that says a lot in my mind.

I am also not selling cos I love the sound and pull more than anything I have had before. A top fun car all round!!
